EXPERIENCE POINTS

All Ohio Association of Public Treasurers Conferences are worth 2 experience points each. These points are in addition to the education points above.

ACPFA – Advanced Certified Public Finance Administrator

Our National organization, the Association of Public Treasurers of the United States and Canada (APT US & C) also offers an ACPFA designation.  This designation is offered to encourage and reward those with a current CPFA designation who have obtained advanced education and participation in the APT US & C and its State and Province Associations.  The OAPT offers ACPFA credit at most of our annual conferences and at all of our Public Finance Officer Training Programs held annually in June.  Learn more about the ACPFA designation at the National web page: ACPFA

CPIM – Center for Public Investment Management

Ohio State Statute requires public entity fiscal officers with investment responsibilities to obtain 6 CPIM hours annually.  The state Treasurer’s office is responsible for monitoring CPIM compliance.  The OAPT offers CPIM hours at nearly all of our events and training program.  Learn more at the State Treasurer’s CPIM web page:  CPIM FAQs

CPE – Continuing Professional Education

CPEs are required for Certified Public Accountants (CPAs) in order to maintain their certification.  The OAPT offers CPE credit for many of our courses at our events and training program.  Learn more at the Ohio Accountancy Board web page:  Ohio Accountancy Board

FOI – Fiscal Officer Integrity

The Fiscal Officer Integrity Act was implemented by the State Legislature in 2015 and is monitored by the Auditor of State’s office.  The Fiscal Integrity Act is intended to raise the bar of accountability for fiscal officers across the state and to help deter accounting errors and fraud with increased training requirements and a new removal process for fiscal officers.  Credits that apply towards FOI are CPEs, CPIM, and others listed on the AOS web page.  Learn more at the Auditor of State’s web page:  AOS Fiscal Officer Integrity

CLE – Continuing Legal Education

CLEs are required for Attorneys in order to maintain their licensure.  The OAPT offers CLEs at our Public Finance Officer Training Program held annually in June.  Learn more about CLE requirements at the Ohio Supreme Court Attorney Services CLE web page:  Ohio Supreme Court-CLEs
